The MÁV String Quartet was formed by principal section players of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble aims to play an active role in Hungary’s musical life and beyond its borders. Alongside the classical string quartet repertoire, it is dedicated to rediscovering and presenting works by 20th-century Hungarian composers and preserving Hungary’s musical heritage.
